Projects

The house itself was essentially complete when we bought it, requiring little or no further development. The ground floor is completely open-plan and the design is simple but consistent throughout.

The garden, however, was another matter. There were already a number of mature eucalyptus trees and bamboo clumps and attractive grasses, all of which are ideally suited to the poor and arid soil conditions. And there were already four small ponds, arranged with interconnecting waterfalls and decking. We had to replace the top one of these with a much deeper pond for our koi, and we will at some stage have to rebuild the bottom pond, but the design is again essentially fine. However, the remainder of the garden is largely a 'blank canvas'.

This section of the website will describe several projects which are intended to transform the greater part of the garden area.
