BALINESE

Bali has quite a distinct cuisine within Indonesia. Unlike neighbouring Java, where about 90% of the population is Muslim, in Bali about 93% of the population follows Balinese Hinduism. As a result, Balinese cuisine often includes pork, as well as a variety of saté and vegetables, often mixed with chilli and with rice as a staple.

The most famous dish is babi guling, which is roast suckling pig stuffed with Balinese spices.
