From Trinidad, it is said that one pod will spice 7 pots of stew. The Douglah is  starts out green and matures to the dark brown/deep purple skin with a pimply texture unique to the Douglah.

There is some variation in appearance, shape and size due to genetic instability of many Trinidadian super hots.
