Norwegian group formed by music students at the University of Oslo to create a forum where students could play and learn about Norwegian folk music. They learn tunes in the traditional way: by ear. When all the details of rhythm and phrasing are worked out, they add different flavours to the music, inspired by the members' widely differing musical backgrounds. They create new forms, like the polkacalypso, chaosreels, funkhambos and grungelokks. They mainly play concerts, but also perform dances.
