Trumpeter, composer, arranger and producer, Davis recorded early in his career as a studio musician in Chicago with such labels as Brunswick, Chess, Columbia and Capitol.

He has recorded with such artists as Earth, Wind & Fire, Phil Collins, the Jacksons, Michael Jackson, Stanley Turrentine, B.B. King, the Chi-Lites, Curtis Mayfield, Ramsey Lewis, Bobby Womack and many others. Rahmlee appears on most of these recordings in conjunction with the original Earth, Wind & Fire horn section, independently known as the Phoenix Horns.
