Part of the Cortical Foundation, founded by Gary Todd in 1992 to broaden awareness of innovators in sound and composition. Its primary function is the preservation of sound archives and publication of recordings, with particular emphasis on artists that emerged during the 1960s. Many of these recordings represent new directions in music and have redefined the musical development of the 20th century.
