Azerbaijani cylindrical drum.
A naghara traditionally has a wooden body but some modern examples are made of plastic. It is covered on both sides by natural skins such as goatskins or sheepskins, one high and one low in pitch. The heads are stretched and zigzagged by a special string that is used to tune the drum.
The naghara is played with the fingers of both hands and held in the lap or armpit with one arm resting on top of the drum.
