The more usual round (female) version of the Galician frame drum.

The instrument is simple, consisting of a round frame 40 to 50cm in diameter, with or without rattles, which has a sheep or goat skin stretched over it, made as if it were a sieve or tool for winnowing.

It is similar to the Moroccan frame drum called bendir, although the latter does not have jingles.
