Awarded annually since 1969 for the best original full-length novel written by a citizen of the United Kingdom, the Commonwealth or the Republic of Ireland. Originally known as the Booker Prize, the title was extended when administration was transferred to the Booker Prize Foundation in 2002 and it became sponsored by the investment company Man Group.
