American guitarist.
Born in Portland, Oregon, Kellogg did not take up the guitar until his mid-teens, initially using a home-made electric but eventually migratng to acoustic.
Around this time he discovered key musical influences in John Fahey, Captain Beefheart and Cecil Taylor.
He was Fahey's opening act in the early 1980s and maintained an ongoing relationship that was part student, part friend. His album, Passive-Aggressive, explores blues, pop, flamenco, folk and other areas.
