One of the living masters of bluegrass banjo and the inventor of the melodic picking technique widely referred to as 'Keith Style'.
In the early 1960s, Keith was a member of Bill Monroe's Blue Grass Boys, where he raised Earl Scruggs' three-fingered method of banjo playing to the next level.
After leaving the Bluegrass Boys, Keith also learned pedal steel and played in various groups with fellow Bluegrass Boy Peter Rowan, including Rowan's Muleskinner project.
He has also toured and recorded with artists such as Ian & Sylvia, Judy Collins and David Grisman.
Keith has produced several banjo tuition books and instructional videos and owns a banjo manufacturing company.
