An American bass guitarist who has played with many notable artists including Conway Twitty, Bob Dylan, James Brown, Eric Clapton, Neil Young, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Ry Cooder, J.J. Cale, Lonnie Mack, Miles Davis, B.B. King, Joe Cocker, Albert Collins and many others.
He was a member of the Stray Gators, Young's touring band, which also played on the Harvest and Harvest Moon albums.
He often played as part of the session rhythm duo Tim & Jim with drummer Jim Keltner.
