Originally a subsidiary of Chiswick Records formed to cover reissues, Ace continued continued to repress the better records of Chiswick after the latter stopped in 1984. Over the years, Ace acquired the rights of Fantasy Records, Stax Records, Specialty Records and Vanguard Records.
