One of the world’s leading Caribbean music companies formed in 1987. Its operations encompass the development, manufacture, marketing, sales and distribution of recorded music through a network of subsidiaries, joint ventures and licensees around the world, representing approximately 65% of the calypso / soca / steel drum music market.
Up to 1995, most of the label's releases were arranged by Leston Paul and had a very distinctive sound. The label is still closely associated with Leston Paul but now issues a lot of licensed material from artists such as Iwer George and Xtatik.
JW has had a licensing agreement with Crosby's in Trinidad for many years and several records have appeared on both labels.
