Sub-label for Frank Zappa's albums and artists during the 1970s and early 1980s following the end of the relationship between Bizarre/Straight and Warner Records.
With DiscReet, Zappa had his first taste of success in the singles market. DiscReet existed until Zappa filed a lawsuit against Warner, its distributor and parent company. He then sought out Capitol Records for distribution assistance, but these plans fell through. Finally, Mercury Records stepped in, and Zappa then created Zappa Records in 1977.
