Smaller and higher pitched than the classic European guitar with 6 strings. It is different from some other Latin American guitars in construction because it is internally braced and is shaped similarly to the modern guitar. The requinto has been widely used throughout Latin America, but playing, stringing and tuning techniques differ from one country to another.
