Celestaphone

Invented by Henry Marx and manufactured by the Phonoharp Company in 1912, the celestaphone is a 'mandolin guitar zither' that is roughly two times the size of a Phonoharp chord zither. It is played by pressing spring-levers to cause small fixed weighted hammers to strike the strings. It has a unique repeating action and spans 2-octaves, from C-C.
