A British novelist whose best-known novels are Money (1984) and London Fields (1989). He has twice to date been listed for the Booker Prize.

His work centres around the apparent excesses of late-capitalist Western society, whose perceived absurdity he often satirises through grotesque caricature - sometimes referred to as 'the new unpleasantness'.

He is the son of Kingsley Amis.
