A petty thief with a close resemblance to a samurai warlord is hired as the lord's double. When the warlord later dies, the thief is forced to impersonate him and take up arms in his place, in order to protect his clan from appearing weak and vulnerable. But he finds himself haunted by the warlord’s spirit as well as his own ambitions.
