Obsessive master thief McCauley leads a crack crew on various military-style heists across L.A. while equally obsessive detective Hanna tracks him. Each man recognises and respects the other's ability and dedication, even as they express their willingness to kill each other, if necessary. The robbers start to feel the heat when they unknowingly leave a clue at their latest heist.
